    the players are better.

  • Phillies:

It is a whole different level of competition. If you have never played on a 90-foot field, then don’t be surprised if (when?) you don’t make the team.

yeah. you can count on seeing up to 75mph pitching on the jv level. Pitchers will be throwing really good curve balls and other off speed pitches such as circle changes, changups, and every once in awhile there will be a knuckle ball in there. Umpires strike zone is an actual strike zone, usually the little league strike zones are 3x inflated. 7 innings is usually played, and i think little league plays 6. there are lead offs and you can steal as soon as the pitcher makes the slightest move to home plate. and there are many more but thats all i can come up with for now. hope i helped!

  • Sense:

    Little League:

    - 60 ft. bases and 46 ft. from the pitcher’s mound to home plate
    - Average pitching speeds: 45 – 70 mph
    - No running to first on a dropped third strike
    - Minus 11, 12, 13, etc. bats
    - No metal cleats
    - Leading off bases is not allowed and you may steal only after the ball passes the plate

    High School:

    - 90 ft. bases and 60 ft. from the pitcher’s mound to home plate
    - Average pitching speeds: 70 – 85+ mph
    - On a dropped third strike by the catcher, you can run to first (but not always)
    - Strictly Minus 3 bats only
    - Metal cleats are allowed (they allow better traction yet it’s a safety hazard for infielders on foot-first steals, etc.)
    - Leading off bases is allowed and you may steal whenever it’s possible to do so

Most importantly – Kids in high school will be more aggressive players because of many of them are competing for scholarships for college and competing to be in the MLB someday.

Other than that, it’s pretty much the same set of rules.

    Hope this helps :)
