Wildcats baseball, Bearcats softball teams selected to NCS playoff
The NCS playoff brackets were announced on Sunday. There was good news for two local teams. The Ukiah High Varsity Baseball Team and the Potter Valley Softball team were each selected to take part in their respective sections’ playoffs: the Wildcats in the Division II bracket and the Bearcats in the Division VI bracket.

Area girls named to 12-2A softball team
Prairiland and Rivercrest were well represented on the All-District 12-2A Softball Team, released recently by the league coaches. Prairiland senior Kelti Mowery was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Rivercrest freshman Hailey Brown was named Newcomer of the Year.

Two Marshall University 2010 softball signees, Erika Bennett and Amanda Lara, captured the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I softball title on Saturday after Bennett pitched a one-hit shutout to give Miami Dade College its first national title.
